How To Add Warmth To A Room Using These Awesome Mood Lighting Tips

The minute we turn our devices on and take a look at our social media accounts, we are bombarded daily with news of natural disasters, political wars, and a whole host of negatives we don't need. Add that to our already pre-existing life challenges, and it can all lead us to poor mental health. This is why creating a space that allows us to relax and destree is so important today.

Now, we may not be experts in the field of mental wellbeing, but we certainly know the perfect ways to unwind your thoughts from those negative factors of life; by simply creating an alluring ambiance in your homespace. Mood lighting can be achieved with almost any kind of lighting fixtures, whether it be lamps, pendants, under-tone LED lights, sconces, or even rope lights

Best Mood Lighting Fixtures

Mood lighting is like a warm hug or kiss, when you walk into a room. It's inviting and just draws you in. Yes your lights are there to light up your room, but they can do so much more. For instance, adding an LED light under some artwork that hangs in your hallway, can and will not only bring focus to your artpiece, but also bounce color and create symmetrical shadows to that space - creating an entire new vibe or mood.

The trick however, is to opt for lighting fixtures with warm bulbs, since these give off a yellow-ish, orange-ish glow. Now picture adding a warm orb light or sconce light against a colored wall. This will definitely create some semblance of a moody feel to that space.

All you need to remember when purchasing your lighting fixtures, is that yellow lighting bulbs will add warmth, while white lighting bulbs will add vibrancy and starkness to your homespaces. Sconces and pendant lights can most definitely deliver on that calm vibe, and illuminate the right places and cast dark shadows on the right spots.  If you’re big on energy efficiency (as we all should be), then go for the warm LED bulbs over the white or cool ones.

Now if you already have cool overhead lighting that you cannot change, that's okay! What you can do to add warmth, is incorporate a few decor lamps to alter the mood in those spaces. Those lamps will help to create a calm glow, and please do not shy away from floor lamps. Floor lamps create height, balance and visually pleasing warm aesthetics, since they are known for creating a romantic glow. These are great for bedroom spaces too.

When it comes to LED strip lighting, again opt for the warm ones, and install them in places like below your kitchen cabinets, or under the kicks of your kitchen and bath areas, the risers on your staircases, and even behind baseboards. The good news is that there are plenty of warm LED options to choose from, and there are even dimmable options today.
