Interior Design Trends 2023

In 2023, the use of natural materials will be all the rave, along with earthy home decor and earthy interior colors. This is the year we also embrace elegant and traditional designs and take a break on the minimalist design style. For now! Textured walls will still dominate this year, so go ahead with your limewashed treated, plaster coated or simply painted textured walls. But don't stop there, look up!

Textured ceilings are also gaining plenty of popularity and are becoming an eye-catching new trend. With regards to interior design styles, minimalism will take a backseat this year, while mid-century and art deco interior design styles will be trending. When it comes to sticking to the interior design norm of embracing only one style and look at a time, step out of that comfort zone. This year's interior design trend, is to also play around with several styles, designs and decor by mixing things up. It's all about the quality of your selected pieces and not how much you have. You can source quality decor pieces from second-hand market places, interior designers on our Instagram followers listing (@modern_homedesigns2023), local showrooms and design studios.

Two interior design trends for 2023 we could not have predicted, was the use of creative fabrics and the influence of European style in interior designs this year. Do note that some of the most popular European interior design styles are: Scandinavian, Minimalist, and French Country.

For our marble lovers, marble will still be popular this year. The only aspect of marble utilization in interior design that will change, is the way in which it is used, specifically in kitchen designs.
